An Absolute Must-Have for LEGO & Star Wars Fans!
I recently picked up the LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 Building Toy Set (75379), and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience from start to finish! As both a lifelong LEGO builder and a huge Star Wars fan, this set hit all the right notes. The build itself is incredibly satisfying — detailed enough to challenge and engage builders aged 10 and up, but not so complicated that it becomes frustrating. The design of R2-D2 is spot-on, capturing the droid’s iconic look with amazing accuracy and clever engineering. The rotating head, retractable leg, and other interactive features make it perfect for both display and light play. One of the biggest highlights for collectors is the exclusive 25th Anniversary Darth Malak minifigure. It’s a fantastic addition that adds serious value to the set, especially for fans of Knights of the Old Republic. LEGO absolutely nailed the details on this minifig — it’s a showstopper. The packaging is sleek, and the instructions are easy to follow. Whether you're buying this as a gift or adding it to your own collection, it’s a total win. This is more than just a toy — it’s a celebration of 25 years of LEGO Star Wars magic. Highly recommend!

Typical High Quality from Lego
Typical LEGO quality and ease of assembly. Nice big model, good value for money and a nice variety of pieces to make it look and function more interestingly.

Amazing build for May the 4th!
I bought this LEGO R2-D2 set to celebrate May the 4th and it did not disappoint! I was able to complete the build in one day. It was a fun, rewarding experience from start to finish. The level of detail is incredible, and it really captures the personality of R2-D2. A must-have for any Star Wars or LEGO fan. This was the perfect way to spend the day!

I love it.
I love it. It took a bit to but it together but I had fun every step of the way. I love putting together Lego sets. The price was really great and the quality made it worth every penny. I had so much fun building it and the design is identical to the real R2D2. It’s really a building set for all ages.

Our favorite little astromech, but now smaller!
I bought this having already bought and built 75308. This set is about half the price of that set and about half the size, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's inferior. It has about half the bricks of the previous set and isn't as detailed due to its size, but for a much lower price point, that is to be expected. I like the smaller size and I think the details it does have looks good on it. The only thing I don't really care for is the accessories. The larger build allowed for the different Artoo arms to fold up into the body. The accessories here involve you taking off the panel and replacing it with the accessory. It's fine, but you run the risk of either losing the panel or losing the accessory. The middle leg also doesn't go up into the body, it attaches to the bottom. Probably harder to lose, though. This set doesn't have the black box of the other adult oriented sets, but I would say this set is probably more adult friendly than kid friendly. I don't have any kids, though. It was easier to put together, even with the technics skeleton. The skeleton of the bigger set is way more intricate, so this might be a little more kid friendly.I think regardless of whether or not you have the bigger set, this is a good set to get. Also, it comes with a Darth Malak minifigure (from Knights of the Old Republic) and an R2D2...which if you build and collect Lego Star Wars sets, you probably have a lot of by now. I'd love to see them make a similar set, but with Chopper.

Perfect set for my 8-year old son
My son (8) completedbthis Lego set in 2-days (started the night we got it and finished the next day). Each bag of Legos had some extra pieces. It's exactly as described and he had so much fun building it.

For every Star Wars fan
Let’s be honest, LEGOS aren’t like the ones we grew up with. They’re more detailed and cost much more than when we were kids. On the plus side you can now make really awesome things like this R2D2. It goes together right and doesn’t fall apart when you pick it up. Join the light side and grab one while you can, the force compels you!
