This taste good and better than drinking an energy drink

Got this because of curiosity in its historical significance, but purchased it again because it's good!

its not the best chocolate I have ever had but its still better than most waxy chocolate they sell to us Americans. the milk chocolate version is not overly sweet, or overly strong but there is a coffee flavor to it that surprised me a little bit. I am not sure why I was surprised, but it works well with the chocolate.if you are wondering what the caffeine is like, because I was looking at this stuff on a military surplus website that played up the caffeine/energy kick. I ate 2 triangles at a time throughout the day for a few days, now I am finished with my second tin. the boost I got was subtle and lasted a short time. which I think is the intended effect. I am not really a coffee drinker though I sometimes do. I prefer monster and even then I go through phases where I drink it and then long periods that I don't. comparing the chocolate to coffee, taken in moderation the chocolate didn't make me jittery like my soul was leaving my body. the monster is a large can and I don't exactly feel effects but friends know when I have been drinking it. I didn't get that with the chocolate. I suppose I could start pushing more to see where the line is but as it stands the 2 bits seem appropriate when I wake up and then 2 more several hours later. it seems really dialed in for me.It may effect you differently depending on your tolerance but I hope this helps.

This chocolate is fairly sweet with no semi-sweet qualities that you get with Hershey's or American chocolate. It's also a dark chocolate with hints of coffee (which I assume is the kola nut).These melt really well, which is why I just like to pop one in my mouth and let it melt. Unfortunately, because they melt really well, you really want to order these in such a way that you minimize heat exposure to them. I bought these in late fall/winter, and they were stuffed in the mailbox, and all of the tins have been in immaculate condition. A previous tin I bought in the summer and part of it was melted after I had let it stay outside just a little too long.The bonus with these is that the tins are also useful for holding small things. I use one to hold tokens in Magic: The Gathering. I've seen other people use them for sewing needles and other things like that.I suppose the only thing people should know is that these chocolates have also been found in old German military rations from the 1940's, if that means anything to you. The brand has been around for a while.

Way to expensive now. Great quality but not the original formula

Super tasty chocolate. The dark is definitely better than the milk to me, but both are tasty. Slight taste of coffee to the chocolate, and it’s a decent little bump of energy in the morning or afternoon.

Need a lift early in the morning? This stuff is great if you do not drink coffee. Mid morning or mid afternoon, great for that mild jolt. You won't get the caffeine shakes.

I love these chocolates. Cool packaging and tast can not be topped. Excellent
