The best way to start learning German
This CD language course is fantastic! I have tried other CD courses and there is no comparison. German is a complex language and this 5 disc course will not have you speaking fluently, but it will give you a foundation and give you a great feeling of confidence if you are going to Germany. It's entirely auditory though you might want to pickup a "just enough" booklet to take along with you. I took the Pimsleur Spanish course years ago and it worked great for me. The German course is equally effective. It doesn't bury you in an avalanche of tenses and cases that you can't possibly remember, as I have experienced elsewhere. It starts simply and uses timed repetition so you really understand what you are hearing and repeating. I did the 10 lessons and am very pleased with the results. Now of course I want to take more courses and it will be Pimsleur all the way!

Worth every cent
Been wanting to learn German for awhile. Started doing a class but was recommended this course from my cousin. Fantastic! Really helped me to start using German from the first day by listening and repeating which is my preferred method. Helped get the pronunciation and accent down. My cousin was actually impressed after he heard me after a week. Makes my driving very productive. Each lesson is under 30 min and itβs recommended to only do 30 min lesson a a day but ok to repeat lessons daily. This really helps and has me spending more time listening and repeating resulting in learning. I highly recommend this course and even as a complimentary to classes. Yes, Iβm still doing an online class but this course made it more understandable and relatable. Teacher was even impressed with my pronunciation and understanding. I plan to continue using and further my language ability. Next is Italian!Only thing id add, is sometimes the speakers are a bit too quick but I feel there is a reason for this...perhaps to get u/train u, to decipher quicker. We will see. ππ»π

What a great way to learn German!
My sister asked me to buy this for her because she wanted to learn German before vacationing there for a couple weeks. She absolutely loved it, so much so that I started using it myself. It's a great thing to listen to and use to practice German in the car during a work commute. I like that it gives you time to think how to translate sentences, and is just the right amount of challenging. The repetitiveness definitely helps with memory retention. I like to use this together with Duolingo so I can learn not only how to speak German, but also how to read it. This helps me understand better how to pronounce the words as well - sometimes it doesn't come through correctly when I hear it. Definitely worth the money!

German Pimsleur
I have a few Pimsleur languages, for the price it's great though I find it very difficult, that I am not able to see the words ever. Taking notes is hard because I don't know how to spell anything in this new language I have. They are great because I listen to them in the car or at home, there is a lot of repetition so it's fairly easy to pick up and learn. German specifically has been a challenge for me, not having much practice talking in person with someone and not being able to see the words or write them down is frustrating for me.

Recommend for a vacation.
I took 4 years of high school german have not used it and forgot most of it. I bought this as a refresher for an upcoming trip to germany. Amazing some things do come back to memory (vocabulary not on these cd's). I think the is a good method for basic conversation to get by on a vacation. Nothing is perfect and vocabulary is limited. I think these CDs give a good foundation for word structure. Use the structure and a dictionary to increase your vocabulary. There is always google translate! I personally would recommend this method play it in your car or while cooking. One other suggestion if you are not sure about pronunciation look up the word for spelling it will help.
