Been using more than 9 years still work great!
Bought these back in Dec 2013 and have used them nearly everyday since then. They are easy to clean just a squirt of Dawn and scrub my hands with them on. I’m not afraid of getting burn but also aware you don’t hold anything hot too long. I see price has increased significantly but I would still recommend and buy again.

Different, but I like them.
I wasn't too sure about buying silicon gloves, because I didn't think I'd like the feel of them, but they're lined with fabric, so I took a shot.Pros:+ Grippy! I hadn't considered this, but they are a lot grippier than cloth mitts. I'm not as strong as I used to be, and these are really good at gripping stuff, so I don't worry so much about dropping it.+ Moisture proof! My cloth mitts would burn the heck out of me, if the thumb got into something wet, and these don't get wet, so you could plunge the whole mitt into your pot, and no worries about the wet conducting the heat through.+ Clean! I wash my cloth mitts all the time, but they never seem clean enough, because they're stained & burnt. This won't absorb anything, so it won't stain, and if it get's burnt, I suspect it would melt, before it would turn black.+ Keeps the heat off of me. The silicone itself will keep the heat from burning you for a while, but just in case, these are lined & have raised lines, shaped like quilting stitches, so there's a bit more than just a thin layer of silicone.+ They fit me well. I'm an average height woman (5'5"), but have biggish hands, & these fit well. They go several inches past my wrist, so my arms are protected, as well, and the thumb is still workable, with fingers fully outstretched.Cons:+ Grippy! Blessing & a curse, because you have to PUT things down, you can't just slide them out from under a dish. They don't slide. : )+ They said they'd go through the dishwasher, so I tried it. They were fine, but it took a really long time setting them over the heater to dry the insides. I think I'll stick with just washing the outsides in the sink from now on, so the insides stay dry.+ They fit me well in the hands, but they are a bit snug at the mid-arm. Admittedly, I'm kinda chubby, but if you have heavy or muscular forearms, be aware they may be snug.Overall, I like them - so far. Haven't had them long, but they do their job, and I'd recommend them to friends who asked.

Must have for klutzes
While I'm not the biggest klutz in the world, I could probably get on the short list for the Klutz Hall of Fame. This tends to be a real problem in the kitchen. I love to bake, hate to cook, but unfortunately seem to spend an inordinate amount of time doing the later. So one way or another I'm spending a lot of time in what is, for klutzes, a dangerous environment. I've had these oven mitts for about three years and they've saved my bacon more times than I count ("bacon" Get it? see what I did there? Sigh. Never mind)First of all, these mitts are HUGE. I have fairly small hands but I think even someone with very large hands would find them more than large enough (I was going to say "someone with big mitts" but we've already determined that I'm not funny...) The large size means that there is very little manual dexterity but I can't think of any reason I would need that- I just want to safely move hot pots and pans.An added bonus is that they are long enough (on me) to cover several inches of my lower arm. This has saved me from a serious burn more than once. When we got a new range it came with one of those extremely heavy cast iron griddles. I tried following the directions for steak- sear on griddle on top of stove, move to oven. When I took it out of the oven I realized that because of the weight, I was actually resting some of it on my wrist area. With these mitts, I didn't even feel any heat. (The steak thing didn't work by the way. Still haven't figured it out.)Which brings up another strong point- these things are EXTREMELY well insulated. It must be the silicone because they don't have the usual fluffy filler. I don't use a 475-500 degree oven very often but even then these work perfectly. These are also very easy to clean- mine still look like new. I usually just put them on and wash them in hot, soapy dishwater. Occasionally to clean the cloth interior I will turn them inside out (not easy) and put them through a cold water wash and air dry.I'm glad to see that these mitts are still available on Amazon. I don't need another pair right now but it is a service to klutzes everywhere.

Good mitts
These oven mitts felt a little but baggy/loose on my hands compared with my old ones. They are also slightly shorter than what I am used to. But the silicone us quite flexible and the grip seems very good.
