They are still in fine condition and will be a permanent part of my ...
I bought these because I've had knee problems (strangely, downhill only) before and wanted something inexpensive in case it recurred. I blew my knee seriously on the 2nd day of a 2 week trip in Glacier National Park and Banff. The trip would have been ruined if I didn't have my sticks. I'm a big girl and had my heart set on a certain set of hikes, and managed them all (70 miles worth) with the help of the poles. They are still in fine condition and will be a permanent part of my hiking gear.

Excellent hiking stick, Excellent customer service!!
I would HIGHLY recommend these walking sticks. I purchased them a couple days before we went on a hike. They got here a day before and unfortunately, the middle ring was cracked on them. They still worked and I really wanted to use them so I figured rather than sending them back, I would just suck it up. I took the sticks and they worked great. My arthritic knees felt better even when hiking up and down hills. After I returned home from this trip, I got an email from Mark C. asking how I liked my sticks and asking me to rate them on Amazon. I responded back and told him I loved the sticks, but the broken ring was keeping me from rating them. I didn't want to discourage someone from buying them when I did not give him the opportunity to fix the problem. Mark responded quickly and gave me two options to fix the problem. Once I chose an option, he quickly responded and took care of the ring. So, not only is the product excellent, the customer service is too! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great addition to hiking gear
I ordered two pair, one pair for myself and one pair for a friend for her birthday. I used these for the first time this past weekend for a difficult hike. I am really glad I got these - the support and the anti-shock really made the hike more manageable and they're very easily adjustable. They have made me a trekking pole convert. I'm buying another set for another friend.edit: I just wanted to re-iterate how great these poles stood up. Just returned from very hard hiking in Alaska/Yukon (3 weeks) and the poles withstood all of the abuses. Would definitely recommend.

A God-send!
The poles were AMAZING! I could not have made our recent trip to Yellowstone/Tetons without them. I was recovering from back issues and needed the extra support when walking. I hiked all over the Tetons and saw the most breathtaking sights that I could not have seen without the poles. I actually was asked about them on a couple occasions and gave my testimonial. It was nice to have the option of the two different ends (sharp and rubber-tipped) for the different surfaces I encountered. The only drawback - and it didn't prove too big a problem - was the length of the poles when fully collapsed. They were still too long (by a couple inches) to put in our small suitcases and we could't take them in our carry-ons (even if they did fit). So I had them shipped to our destination and mailed them back before leaving to return home.Otherwise, they were a god-send.

So glad I bought these
So glad I bought these. I am fairly news to hiking and now understand why so many people use these. I did a hard hike before buying these and overworked my knees climbing up and down and over rocks on the mountain. Did a hike after buying these and bright them along just in case. So glad I did. These were very helpful in taking the pressure off my knees. The spring function they have is nice. I also like the different attachments for differentt types of ground that come with it.

excellent for hikes
These were by far the best thing to purchase for hiking! We had several members of our family hike so we used 1 each even though they are intended as a pair for 1 person. Everyone talked about having better balance and being easier on their back. It made it easier to climb up/down the rocky terrain. I plan on buying a couple more pairs. They were used by ages 14-56 and everyone loved them.

Does what it's suppose to and the personal touch even better!
Never used trekking poles before but many reviews say these are a necessary item when traversing up and down steep grades if you have back or knee issues. Since I'm not as young as I used to be, I ordered two sets for my son and I who will be heading to the Wind River Range in Wyoming to put them through some abuse and will update this review accordingly. So far walking down my dirt road and back, they seem to function properly. The only concern I have is if the rubber end on the pole will stay on or if it will fall off on the trail leaving the ice pick on the end exposed. It does come with spares and I have no doubt that if they are lost due to coming loose, that this business ( BAFX Products) will replace them making their customers whole again. I can vouch for this already as I have a trim ring on one of the poles that was cracked. I was going to throw some tape on it and call it good, but figured since they contacted me to see if I was satisfied, I'd test their sincerity. They were more than generous in getting my problem resolved. The only thing I can see is that the wrist straps do not tighten down small enough to allow your wrist to support more of the pole instead of wasting energy gripping the pole tightly with your hands.

Inexpensive, sturdy and easily adjustable
I needed a decent pole for dog walking on fairly high rocky forest trails. About Four miles a day. These are easily adjustable, come with several tips and comfortable handles. You can really feel the shock absorbing springs as you walk, but they are not too squishy. At just a little over $10 a pole, a real bargain.
