The tentacles are not as up and inward as the picture shows, but is still functional. It just takes up a little more room, but I have ample counter space. Would definitely recommend this seller.

Tips over
I thought this was so cute and purchased it but if only one mug remains on stand it tips over- I would need as many arms as the octopus to manage this while not allowing all my mugs to break.
