Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo

A-freaking-mazimg.I usually don't write reviews but every platinum blondes needs to know about thisIt's a deep purple & smells like grapes.I used to used shimmering lights but never really liked it.My hair turns brassy (of course) and I was so over my old shampoo I thought screw it, I'll try a new one and I'm so glad I did.With my old shampoo I would put it on my hair dry so it would absorb more and stick. Wash it out my hair felt like straw but looked a little better.With this I got my hair wet first put it in it and waited the five minutes it says on the bottle... Washed it out and peeked at the mirror..... I was astonished. Holy white!I will say for hair that is already light be prepared to have a purple hue if you put on those areas For the full 5, it washes out though. Next time I use it I'll leave it on the ends longer ( that's the brassy part for me) and less on top.It has an amazing lather, a nice smell and my hair didn't feel nearly as dry as with the shimmer lights.I'm attaching a photo of my hair, I didn't brush my hair so excuse the grossness (I just woke up) but wanted to share the amazing color.Basically this is a God sent for me.

I had a not so great salon experience and my hair was bleached way more than I wanted it to be. The color was not natura at all and very yellow and brassy. Gave this a try and within three uses the extreme yellow tone has gone and now I have a light ash brownish color that suits my hair way more. I did notice that the color worked right away within the first wash, but by the third wash the results were amazing!

I recently decided to go silver and my colorist stripped the old light brown color out and left me a platinum blonde so the very thick silver grow out would blend more. My stripped locks quickly turned brassy so I ordered the Provolone based on reviews. In my experience, this works, however I think I was using it too often- twice a week and since my hair is still damaged it was soaking up too much blue and started turning a greenish hue since blue and yellow (from the brassiness) turn green on the color wheel. To remedy this, I used a clarifying shampoo followed by a ACV rinse. I now only use this once every two weeks since it is a bit drying. If you are a natural silver or blonde with no damage I m sure this would be ok, but be careful and don't overuse if your hair is badly damaged as mine is and follow up with hydrating conditioner.Update...It's been 3 weeks since I last used the Touch of silver and to combat the brassiness. I mixed my normal amount of the Touch of silver with 1 Tbsp of 10 volume developer and 1 Tbsp baking soda and applied to my hair for 5 -7 minutes and it really took out the brassiness! I'd recommend only once a month for this and then follow up with the Touch of Silver weekly after with hydrating conditioner. Works like a charm!

alright, so it does what it says it does. it really does tone your hair, takes away the brassiness and adds a silver sheen to it (as the name suggests).however, my biggest gripe is that it leaves my hair SOOOOO DRYING. I'm pretty sure this is common with most purple shampoos though. but honestly if im trying to tone my hair to get rid brassiness, do i have to sacrifice having soft hair as well? its like, i have to choose between toned hair and soft hair. i cant have both.mind you i have fine dark brown black hair thats ombre into an ash blonde. i like this stuff because it does what it claims and its not misleading.good product overall though, i like it, but probably wont be repurchasing because i cant stand dry hair. oh, and it smells like detergent too. not bad but it may be unpleasant to some.

This is the best purple shampoo i have tried and im glad i found a good one, i have highlights since 2011 and from all the shampoos i have tried to keep down the brassiness this one is the best, i really like the bright silver/beige shine it gives to my highlights makes my hair look expensive despite having some bad salon experiences this shampoo has saved my hair multiple times, i use it once a week while i shave my legs or try to leave it as long as i can, follow with a leave in treatment after shower.I have been using this shampoo for years, i have sensitive skin but never had a problem because it doesnt contain nasty silicone(Dimethicone) clogging my pores and ofc i remove most of the water from my hair before applying it so it doesn't waters down much and stay on my hair, also this way you keep the shampoo from running down your body. I totally recommend it, good luck!

This shampoo did not do anything to alter the color of my hair. It didn't matter how long I left it on, or if I used it daily. I was hoping it could blend in the few grey's I have at the side of my temples but no difference at all Aside from that, the scent is plain, and it takes a lot to lather so I wouldn't use to clean and moisturize my hair. Another wasted purchase.

I just pour this stuff all over my head, lather it up and leave it on for a couple minutes and it really has neutralized the yellow in my hair so well. I'm not usually impressed with purple shampoos (in my modest price range) so I was really pleased with the way this made my hair feel afterward as well as the improvement in tone. Before this I've used shimmering lights and I absolutely hated the way my hair would feel after (just dirty???) and this doesn't feel like that at all. It's a little small but I think it'll last long enough given its size, I'd still give five stars!

The instructions on the bottle advise not to use this shampoo every day. But because I have very very dry hair, I wash my hair only every 4-5 days, so I am able to use this every time. I love this shampoo! It really does add a nice touch of silver to my gray hair and takes the mousiness out of it. It also conditions my hair beautifully, so it has body from shampoo to shampoo that I don't get with other products. I also like it because it doesn't stain my hands or my towel like other similar products have done in the past. I will definitely be buying this again.
