top quality for reception and consistency in throughput
This has got to be one of the best AC1200 adapters I've used in terms of range and consistency in signal strength and speed throughputI didn't have any problems with 2.4GHz or 5GHzgranted it isn't in a small form factor but the big antenna is definitely part of why i bought it, for the extra range and throughput to turn my raspberry pi 4b into a proper music server (with a special board that has optical out)installing the drivers took a little bit of efforts on raspbian OS but the instructions on edimax's forums were pretty easy to followthe chip is Realtek RTL8812BUit was smooth sailing, no crashes with these special drivers

Doesn't work on Linux as advertised.
I've attempted to install this on my Linux Mint machine (mint being a child distro of Ubuntu), got the latest drivers, and found that it just simply doesn't work. No lights, nothing. It does show up in the terminal when I type lsusb, but I'm still sitting here with my only network adapter still being a tethered phone.I'll attempt to appeal with the manufacturer and see if anything went wrong, but otherwise I'll get a refund and continue using my old phone instead.

Was skeptical first but turns out amazing
Highly recommended product! I needed this device for my new home and was in need for a WiFi 5. Delivery was super fast, the installation was super easy. I’m not tech savvy, but the signal and speed worked perfectly. For its price and value, I will say it’s a good buy.

WiFi AP on HASSOS on Pi4 - did not work out of box
My use case was to have it as external USB WiFi Access Point. Unfortunately HASSOS (supervised mode) does not have driver for this (September 2022) and so this adaptor was not useful for me.The stick itself seems decent quality and the long antenna would've been very handy in giving decent coverage.Note: Home Assistant HASSOS is not Raspberry Pi OS and has different (less?) drivers shipped by default.
