Boiron Oscillococcinum for Relief from Flu-Like Symptoms of Body Aches, Headache, Fever, Chills, and Fatigue - 12 Doses

I LOVE this stuff for flu symptoms. It really works!! It's kind of pricey but I've found Amazon has the lowest prices by far. I've purchased this product from a health store, a couple of different grocery stores, Walgreens and Wal-mart and the Amazon price is $5-$10 less per box.If you take it as directed, you will notice improvement in symptoms within a few hours if you take as soon as symptoms occur. There are three (3) tubes of little, bitty pellets that you take for a full day's dose. Even finicky kids will be okay with taking this because it has a slightly sweet taste and the pellets dissolve immediately.It works even if you take after you've had symptoms for a while. I have twins grade schoolers - when one gets sick the other is sure to follow. One of them caught a bad flu virus from school (had a high fever, sore throat and body aches for five days straight). Someone told me about the Oscillococcinum, so I gave it a try. After one day of taking the Oscillococcinum, the fever finally broke. Two days of taking the medication and she was much better - I gave her the medication for a third day to be sure to cure all of her ailments. I started giving it to the other child as a precautionary measure on the same day I gave it to the sickie. She did get sick, but the duration was much, much shorter. She had a fever for a couple of days, her temperature wasn't as high and her throat wasn't as red either.Seeing how quickly this worked for my kids when they already had symptoms and how it drastically reduced the duration when given at onset of symptoms is all I need to know that this REALLY WORKS. I keep a supply on hand at all times especially in the winter.

Decided to write this because it seems that a whole lot of people don't understand what and how holistic medicine works... This isn't DayQuil. It's not ibuprofen. It doesn't give immediate relief of your symptoms for a few hour until the next dose.Here's how I use it for myself and my family.At the very first feeling of discomfort of sickness (like a tiny bit scratchy or sore in your throat, slight runny nose with headache or you just feel off and that your about to be I'll) I take the first dose. Then follow the instructions and it's usually completely gone by the 3rd or 4th dose IF I caught it early enough. If I'm already sick I maybe still try it and sometimes it's still effective but other times it was to advanced and didn't do a thing.It has worked for me and my family more times than not so I will continue to buy this product and boost my immune system naturally.

When I spent the weekend with 2 relatives who promptly came down with bronchitis, I knew what was coming a few days later when I started to get the 3:00 scratchy throat and lethargic feeling at the office. A coworker recommended this. Being hesitant of some claims in the homeopathic industry, I did some brief internet research and read some reviews on my favorite place for reviews, Amazon. The active ingredient is Anas Barbariae....a fancy Latin term for duck liver. Apparently it's so diluted, that there's virtually no liver in the product, the claim is it leaves "imprints" that help cure the flu. Please keep in mind, I'm a marketing major with absolutely NO medical background, this is just what I understood through some quick research. While there is no scientific proof that this works as anything more than a placebo in curing the flu, there are also no side effects or dangers to taking it.This is all a very long justification for why I felt comfortable enough to head to my local CVS and purchase a box of 6. Keep in mind, it's not cheap, but worth the money if it works. The product comes in small individual vials filled with a sweet, crystal substance that you melt in your mouth. It tastes like candy and melts quickly, so that's a good start. You take it every 6 hours so I was able to get 2 doses in the first night. I continued to take the rest of the box the next day and while I was still a little tired and tried to take it easy, I never got worse and felt fine by the following day. Knowing the condition of my bronchitis-infected relatives that struggled for weeks trying to recover, this was a huge difference. My husband also took it where started feeling bad and felt fine the next day.So...I'm a believer. Science or no science, I believe that it works for me. You can argue that it's placebo and mind over matter, it's still worth it to me. I have a hard time believing that its ineffective though since I was so skeptical to being with. I now keep them in my purse and take one at that first sign of "oh no, here it comes".In regards to cost, Amazon carries the 30 pack for the close to the same price CVS had the 12 pack. My mother was also able to find it at Walgreens. Buy the big pack to keep it readily available, I wouldn't recommend waiting for shipping if you're starting to feel bad though. Head straight to the drug store and start taking it ASAP.
