Medisana 88254 Infrared Lamp (IRL)

I actually did a negative review but I have to admit that I jumped the gun before looking at the situation more closely..I had the lamp arrived quite fast and I am overseas. It is small and maneuverable and the light is powerful.I use it for 10 minutes a day on the face/head since that is recommended on the face. The body can go for mostly anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. It didnt work at the beginning but I was able to fix it and it is working like a champ.My skin is clearing up and my body is feeling awesome in just the short time I am using it.

I have been having some back problems for a while and two weeks ago it became really painful. so much so that I could hardly walk. This prompted me to take a look at what heat lamps were available and when I came across the Medisana 88254 I was impressed with all the positive comments it received.The price was good, but it got even better when I found a lamp on offer from Amazon Warehouse £10.00 cheaper. Having bought from there previously I knew any damage would only be cosmetic and when the lamp arrived five days later it was only the box that had a small dent in it. Straight out of the box it fired up and produced lots of heat almost instantly, very soothing for my tired back.I shouldn't have to use it very often, but it is reassuring to know that it is available any time I need it.

This heat lamp does what it says, provides a gentle warming to tired or aching muscles. As a 150w unit you can stand or sit a good distance away so that more area is covered.Things you might need to knowIt will not tilt down at all. So do not buy if you need it for hands or wrists. The inability to tilt down can also cause problems in general use.The plastic casting can get very hot, especially at the back and on initial use there was a 'plastic cooking' smell.The cable is only 4'6" (142cm) long and comes with a 3 pin plugIts a little unstable and the base could do with being just a bit wider

I have used this lamp a few times and noticed smoke trickling out from the top. The bulb was melting the plastic at the top. Very dangerous. I asked the retailer MUST PEFUMES for a return slip, and they flatly refused, and said it was the buyers fault, mine. I am formally putting a complaint in to the company.

Bought this as a replacement for my old one which finally gave up the ghost after 25 years. Great for sore knees, back, muscles and anywhere where you have a strain etc. Leave off the painkillers, just get one of these lamps ( but don't get it too close, stick to instructions.)

I use it for my wounds on my face to heal it quicker after the spots - as I have an abscess under my tooth's root, I have itching spots on my face.However I tend to have keloids with this product, my life is much easier :)Quickly healing spots + abscess is under control before dental treatment.
