Dubble Bubble - Gum Balls - Original 1928 Pink, 5 lb bag

I purchased these gum balls to go on our table for a baby shower. I purchased these after reading the reviews and read how soft and good these gum balls were. They were vibrant and a adorable addition to the table. Perfect for a pink shower. The taste was amazing. Some people tasted the mint and some didn't so that was funny. They were the hit with most of kiddos and adults as well. They were perfect for what I needed and everyone seemed to enjoy them. I have enclosed a picture so you can see what I used them for. I will be back to purchase in the future. I displayed them in a container on the table I have attached a picture. I will give them a 5 star rating. Below is my star scoring!* 1 star (Nope, DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL!): I would either return or throw away this product. It was a waste of my money and not functional. They're round, smooth, and taste like old-fashioned Dubble Bubble. It's gum. While there are volumes to say about such a product, I'll keep it short. The sweet, fresh flavor that bursts onto the tongue upon the first chomp is delightful, as are the ensuing 3-5 minutes of chewing. Alas, the law of diminishing marginal returns takes over, and soon you are chewing what seems like the components of paraffin. That said, it's a wonderful product and gets the job done. My jaws have never been in such taut, finely tuned shape. And the sugar rush, though brief, is worth every moment.

This brings me back to ... maybe the 1970s. I wasn't born in 1928. Delicious. Back when I used to get gumballs, I always hoped for the pink ones. So I ordered these thinking it might be "the" ones. And it is! It's hard to explain the flavor and it's a big risk to buy 5 lbs of it just to see if it's the one you want. It is!

Incredibly, just as if this we're the original double bubble. So awfully expensive. Would buy more often but just to EXPENSIVE

Ah finally! My favorite gum! My sister and I used to buy this in the biggest bags or buckets we could find. We're both serious 1928 Dubble Bubble addicts. Lol With my income tax I finally decided to splurge and I'm so glad that I did! Given that it's not mass produced anymore, I was thrilled to find it at all!The package arrived very quickly an in perfect condition. A few of the the gum balls had a little damage to their coating, but I'm assuming that it was due to the fact that they had room to bump against each other during shipment. The bag was full, mind you. I'm referring to the air space you can find in any product. The vast majority of the gum balls arrived unscathed.The flavor was exactly as I remembered it with the possible exception of its not seeming as strong. If memory serves, that was always the case with the gum balls as opposed to the chunks. It could also be that it's been at lease 20 years since I've had this gum & I don't remember correctly, too. They were also a little bit on the tough side. This gum has always been a "tough" start" as long as I've chewed it but softened up very quickly. However, when I hold one in my hand for a few seconds, it's as soft as though it just came off the assembly line. No problem!Now I'm just waiting for my sister to arrive so that I can share these with her. She was so excited to see them! Our dentists are going to be in love with us, but it's so worth it to have our "addiction" back! :-)

This batch tasted off. It had a definite watermelonly flavor instead of the wintergreeny flavor that I expected from the 1928 flavor and received with my last order. Not sure what changed but it’s totally different. Wish I could exchange them for the gum tabs or big sticks.

The flavor of these gum balls is great (cherry) however, gum balls are very hard and could break teeth. I used a hammer to break into edible pieces.

My taste buds remain loyal to the 3 big flavors that I knew and loved as a kid. Just like having only 3 TV channels to choose from, we also had the big 3 brands of bubble gum....dubble bubble, super bubble and bazooka. Of those 3, dubble bubble and bazooka were my favorite flavors, although super bubble was probably better texture-wise. But around 20 years ago, I guess that Fleer sold the dubble bubble brand, and the company flooding the market with dubble bubble these days uses an entirely different, and in my opinion inferior flavor. It's hard to find the original 1928 dubble bubble flavor anymore, but these gumballs definitely have it! The package was reasonably priced, and the gumballs were fresh (i.e., they don't break your teeth!). I'll definitely be buying more!
