Prodigen umbrellas are beautifully made umbrellas! Very well made! Very compact and convenient to use either in rain or sun. Will be using this umbrella all-year-round in rain or sun. Lately, I have used it for walks. It has an extra coating to provide UV shade protection. Found that other umbrellas like Totes umbrellas do not provide that extra coat to protect from the sun's UV rays. I have brought several others to give as gifts. This Prodigen umbrella is small & quite compact to slip into a purse. Love the solid colored umbrellas but really love their umbrellas with a flower print on the inside of the umbrella.Must say, this company had excellent customer service! They really care for their customers! Fast communication and will solve problems super quick!Highly recommend this seller and their Prodigen umbrellas!

Otherwise perfect umbrella with a simple mechanism to open and close. Size is perfect for me (I needed something small and unobtrusive to not convince me to carry an umbrella, but not something so small as to be useless or ridiculous).However I was mildly disappointed that after the first couple uses, it already broke in the usual place, where the canopy meets the "ribs" or whatever they're called. One of them was not well sewed on and came loose. I had to manually attempt to sew it back on in a stronger fashion hoping it will last. I do not hold out much faith that my sew job will last and even if it does, if one of those connections already gave out, the others might eventually too.

I originally purchased the dark blue one. After I received it, there were more options for color later. So, I am returning this one for the blue white underside one. There is no push button to open it up but that is ok. It is so small for packing which is what I want. My use will be to protect myself from the sun and not the rain. The material is nice and thick. Beautifully made. I can't wait to get my other one.

This umbrella had a relatively short life. Not particularly sturdy, fabric wristlet Loop got lost early on, doesn’t auto-open. While it’s compact and fine for a light rain with no wind, this umbrella won’t do you any good in heavy rain.

We bought two of these for a vacation and they came in very handy. They're small, and easy to carry - in fact so easy that I've left mine in the outer pocket of my daily backpack for those occasions when I get caught in the rain, the difficult thing is remembering that I have it because it's so light and easily stored that it fits completely in the side pouch without any of it showing above. Works very easily and held up to a decent amount of wind during one particularly strong storm during vacation.

The umbrella has a short length as specified, 7 1/2 inches when closed. However, it has a very large diameter and doesn't fit easily into a pocket. But that is not the worst part; the shaft/stick of the umbrella has metal holes and spring-loaded pop outs to keep open; these did not match exactly and I had to use a file to enlarge one of the openings so that the pop out would be functional in order to prevent the umbrella from closing on itself. Additionally once closed and held by the loop at the handle, the umbrella opens, albeit partially, spontaneously. So I can't hold it by the loop or will trip over the partially opened umbrella. Very poor construction/quality control. Haven't yet had the opportunity to test it in the wind but very unhappy with the purchase. I do not want to go through the trouble of packaging it up, going to a remote location, and shipping it back. Very displeased. Thinking about throwing it in the trash.

Small umbrellas are usually flimsy, and don't last. But this Prodigen isn't most umbrellas. It's as sturdy as my favorite full-sized umbrella that I've had for many years. I've actually found myself grabbing this mini more lately, and leaving the big one at home.We needed something compact, something to carry on our person, in a backpack, be it at ball games or long hikes. This fit the need perfectly. And the blue one is nice, matches my favorite team's colors!I even bought a second to keep in the trunk at all times, part of our emergency pack.If you want a tiny umbrella that doesn't suck, this is it.

I received this travel umbrella in just 2 days by Amazon Prime, It is indeed small, but due to some fancy folding, the umbrella canopy is essentially normal size!There's only one problem. It's almost impossible to open. When you open/unfold it, the canopy will not lock in the open position. I had the misfortune of finding this out in a heavy rainstorm. I had to hold the center of the canopy in my right hand, while pulling down on the handle.I was about to return it as defective, until I found it was just very stiff. By leaning the top of the handle (top of umbrella) against a firm wall, and pushing with maybe 50 lbs of force, I got it to lock securely. Left it that way for 24 hours, and now, while it's still very "stiff" it does lock open without incident. So, find somebody strong and/or heavy who can put some real weight on it to open, before the first use. Don't try to use it the first time when it's raining!

The sections on the handle were broken on arrival.

Plastic top fell off as soon as the package was opened. Could be glued back but I don't think we will both. Convenient small size.
