This is one of the best, classic brain-teasers of all time, in my opinion. My elder brother had an all-white, plastic set of these back in the late 1950s - which I always struggled with!Then I read all about them in Arthur C. Clarke’s book, “Imperial Earth”, where I first heard them called “Pentominoes”. Shortly after, I found a coloured plastic set myself, in a clear plastic box, which I still have and I still treasure!When I saw this marvellous wooden set, I had to get one each for my two, youngest grandchildren - so they, too, will learn the delights of trying to discover the more than 2,000 different ways of fitting them back into their box!Nicely made and presented!!

Great fun to play with

I liked that the box and pieces were made of wood. Colours attractive, though not enough difference between red, orange and pink. But box label and instructions all in Chinese. Disappointing. The diagrams don't seem to relate to the basic challenge of fitting the pieces into the tray. You need to know that there are 2339 solutions. Pieces are not cut whole but are made of smaller pieces stuck together with obvious joins that detract from the appearance. Can't say how long the joints will hold. I failed to spot that delivery was not for weeks. I ordered one with the idea of seeing what it was like and then ordering more for Xmas presents, but I'm now too late. Just as well that I don't now want more.

Unless you read chinese this puzzle is no use. There is a leaflet which presumably explains what to do, but it is all in chinese characters. Luckily I already knew the object of the exercise and so will keep it. But I had intended it for a small gift for a friend which I will not be able to do.

I love that it is small and has it's own case! One piece broke, but is easily glued back together.

We bought it for my daughter when she was around 8 or so. She has enjoyed it the last few years. It is not perfect; the seams where pieces were glued together to make the shapes are not perfectly smooth. Regardless, it is a pretty good set and has held up well.

Seems to be very nice - our son loved it. The top lid fits loosely, and the packaging and instructions are in Chinese

Its the same as the one we already have and I was looking for a second one.
